As election day came closer, I tried to manage my mental and emotional space so that the reporting and the expecting didn’t consume me. Sometimes I was successful; at other times, not.
“Surreal!” We weren’t watching the “game,” but “the counting.” The game was over. The winning had happened. We just didn’t know the score.
However, I felt relieved once the score was posted. A “lightness of being” came over me. With a smile, I savored the moment
I knew that if this time it was going to be different, we had to continue the struggle.
