Today, I used the Savasana at the end of the 6 am Bikram Blend Class to count my abdominal breaths, starting at 75 and stopping at zero. I experienced how a “counting-type mediation” can bring the mind into “stillness.” What a pleasant reminder. Alistair Shearer, in his translation of “The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali,” states that the purpose of yoga is to bring the mind into stillness. 

What do you do to ease into stillness?
